I was lucky enough to be gifted some Pixi MatteLustre Lipsticks £7.00. Pixi are known for their cult products such Glow Tonic but I didn’t know so much about their makeup. I have been testing the lipsticks out and am excited to share what I think of them.
What Pixi Say About The Product
“The ultimate in multi-tasking lip enhancement, this demi-matte lipstick conditions, plumps and protects lips while giving long lasting, intense colour.”
True to the brand, the lipsticks come in a green bullet. It is quite a simplistic design with the branding in the same shade of green but matte rather than gloss.
The MatteLustre Lipsticks that I was sent come in the shades Plum Berry, Bitten Rose and Rose Naturelle. Once applied they have a sheen, I tend to leave mine like this but it you like more of a matte lipstick, Pixi suggest blotting gently with a fingertip.
The lipsticks are comfortable to wear and feel hydrating on the lips. I found that the darker shades left a hint of colour behind on the lips so are longer lasting on the lips than the paler shade (Rose Naturelle). I don’t mind this though as I don’t feel I had to re-apply it any more than any other lipstick.
I love the texture of the MatteLustre Lipsticks and have been wearing Rose Naturelle as my go to ‘nude’. It looked more pink in the images on the website but appears as a natural, brown toned nude – This is definitely my favourite of the three as it is so easy to wear. The shades Bitten Rose (rose pink) and Plum berry (a berry shade with a bright pink tint undertone) were also just as lovely to wear, unfortunately I don’t think the shades suited me, although I have seen them looking lovely on other people.
