Last week we hosted our first ever bloggers event – a brunch held at the Dead Dolls House in Islington. If you’ve been keeping up to date on our social media channels you will have already spotted some images from the brunch. We were excited and a little nervous about organising our first event and we were so overwhelmed with the response we had. We managed to sell all of the tickets and had some incredible brands jump on board to help make the event a success!

We arrived at the venue an hour early to set up and before we knew it bloggers began to arrive. If you haven’t been to the Dead Dolls House before you should totally give it a go for Sunday brunch, the food was incredible (we are still thinking about the waffles)! The staff were so helpful and accommodating to all of the different dietary requirements. Our brunch was served at 12.30pm to give the bloggers a chance to have a welcome drink (a Mimosa or Elderflower fizz mocktail) and settle in.

The Brunch

We pretty much ordered the entire menu which included:

  • Toasted sourdough
  • Waffles with maple syrup
  • Vegan Superfood salads
  • Baked eggs chickpea, tomato and coriander
  • Poached and scrambled eggs
  • Bacon
  • Sausages
  • Avocado, sweet basil and pickled chilli on chargrilled sourdough
  • Fruit
  • Teas and Coffees

The food was served on platters so that the guests could help themselves to whatever took their fancy. Of course in true blogger style it took a good 10 minutes before anyone dared touch the food (gotta get that Insta content first, right?)

Flatlay competitions

After we’d eaten there was the opportunity to take part in a couple of flatlay competitions, the first was very kindly sponsored by Coconut Lane who gifted the winner a £25 voucher to spend online on their favourite items. The bloggers had a chance to style up their flatlay with a number of props, backgrounds, and some gorgeous Coconut Lane sunglasses, notebooks and phone cases. Check out the winning entry shot by the beautiful Naila here.

We are big fans of Clean Beauty Co a premium skincare brand which uses 100% natural ingredients and so we were obviously thrilled to hear that Elsie and Dominika wanted to sponsor our other flatlay competion. The duo very generously sent their Babe Balm and Prime Time set for the bloggers to shoot with, they picked Abbie’s image as the winning entry here. We know she’s going to love her products!

Temporary Tattoos

Ingrid Sanchez of Creative Ingrid is an incredibly talented artist who creates water colour and mixed media paintings. She has turned some of her artwork into temporary tattoos and sent us out a batch of her floral tattoos to have fun with during the event. It turns out you are never to old for temporary tattoos, they are still just as fun as when you were a kid and hers are absolutely stunning! We didn’t want to wash ours off!

We also took our ring light along to give the bloggers a change to take selfies and play around with the photo booth props.

Goodie bag sponsors

As we are Beauty at Brunch we thought it would only be fitting to pick brands that fitted with the Beauty and Brunch theme. We’d promised Instagrammable goodie bags and this wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of the following brands:

Chirp Body – Another 100% natural, cruelty free brand established in London. Chirp Body sent all of the bloggers a Softnest Hair Mask to try out. We will be reviewing the hair mask later this month so keep an eye out!

Disciple Skincare – Charlotte contacted us on Instagram and gifted all of the bloggers a sample of her Good Skin Face Oil. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the brand!

Tea Lab – The lovely ladies at Tea Lab sent out an assortment of their delicious teas, they were so beautifully packaged that we want to display them in our kitchens.

WOW – Last but by no means least Wow sent out their vegan juices which are packed with protein, fibre & antioxidants. The perfect morning pick-me-up.

The Bloggers

Our favourite thing about blogger events is getting to meet so many new faces! Of course it was great to catch up with some familiar ones too! The blogging community is so diverse and it was great to see people who write about all different genres coming together to enjoy a brunch and talk blogging with each other. Make sure you give these lovelies a follow:

Rouge & Coffee | Abigail Kathleen | Glam Glitz Gloss | The Cornerstone For Thoughts | Han Meets World | Digital Fluidity | Owlaila | The Joe Hayes | Who Do I Do | Just Lovely Little Things | Abb Whi | Covet Luxe | Veronica Bizarre | Alice In Wanderlust | Mademoiselle Women | Mimies DelicaciesCharli B | Transience Studio

We are already planning our next event which will be taking place around christmas time so make sure you give us a follow on our social media channels to be the first in the know.

Check out the #BrunchWithBAB on Instagram and Twitter to see what the other bloggers have been saying about the event.
