With Easter only a few weeks away there is plenty of chocolate temptation about, but did you know that there is more than one way to enjoy it? We all know that chocolate can make us feel good when we eat it but did you also know it also has beneficial effects when applied to the skin?
What Lush Say About The Product
“Cleanse and clarify with this chocolatey treat(ment). Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities and give a deep cleanse. Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise.”
Lush’s policy on packaging it to strip it back as much as possible and focus more on what is inside rather than the outside. The containers are recycled and if you return 5 empty pots back to your lush store you get a free one!
I was advised to keep the face mask in the fridge so upon application it had a cooling sensation on the skin. It felt just like slathering chocolate spread over my face and the smell of cocoa and essential oils was delicious. The mask rinsed off easily and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. Some masks which help with removing excess oil can strip the skin too much and leave it feeling irritated and tight. I found that this mask helped to balance my skin whilst being gentle.
I have really enjoyed using this face mask. It combines two of my favourite things: chocolate and skincare. Cupcake face mask would make the perfect gift for Easter or for an indulgent treat all year round.
