I’m never really sure if I’ve completely missed the mark with shoes, I’ve never really been one for ballet pumps and if I’m completely honest you probably won’t ever find me lusting after a pair of Louboutins either, whilst I do wear the odd stiletto when the occasion arises I prefer sturdier shoes with a more masculine feel to them, especially this time of year. Having said that the shoes on our shop page are the best sellers for us so it’s good to know that you guys have similar tastes!
A blucher (pronunciation: /ˈbluːtʃər/ or /ˈbluːkər/, German pronunciation: [ˈblʏçɐ], Blücher) is a style of shoe similar to a derby. Its vamp is made of a single piece of leather (“one cut”).
In the past my most worn shoes have been brogues or loafers (another big trend this season), so when I came across these leather bluchers with ring-pull tab from Zara I knew they were the ones for me. I love the chunky heel on them and the zip detailing.
How to Style your Bluchers
Bluchers are so versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything.
- Just because they have a masculine feel to them doesn’t mean you can’t pair them with a skirt or dress. If you’re not a girly girl then bluchers can help give your outfit a more directional vibe.
- These look great with a pair of cigarette pants or your fave pair of skinnies.
- Why not try experimenting with different textures, try mixing soft knits with the harder edge of the bluchers.
