I have never been as excited about the launch of a beauty product as I was for Pat McGrath’s newest addition to her range – Lust 004. I counted down the days to the launch and made sure I was ready at my computer for the minute they came on sale. After spending an hour and a half refreshing my page (the website crashed) I had almost given up hope of being able to add 004 to my makeup kit. Luckily, a few days later the website was fixed and I grabbed myself the Vermillion Venom Kit ($60) before it sold out.

How to use
The lipsticks can be worn separately or combined for an ombre look by using Venom 2 on the outer corners of the lips and blending it into Venom 1 towards the centre. Gloss can also be applied over the top for a high shine finish.
The glitter can be used in different ways – either applying it directly to the lipstick, on top of the gloss or mixing with the gloss (I like to pat it on with my finger).
The gold can be layered over the lipstick or gloss. Pat McGrath uses gold to highlight the cupids bow on many of her catwalk models and for photo shoots which looks beautiful and is actually more subtle and wearable than you would think.
These products had very high expectations to live up to and once again I was not disappointed. I will definitely be wearing an ombre lip more often and, with Christmas quickly approaching, I will definitely be making the most of having glammed-up glittery lips. Sometimes matte lipsticks can feel quite drying on the lips, however these felt hydrating and comfortable to wear.
Once again PatMcGrath Labs have delivered an amazing product (how many product launches do you know that crashed their website and sent makeup addicts into an absolute meltdown?) I love everything about this kit and will have lots of fun experimenting. The glitter was actually less messy than I thought it would be, I patted it on to the lipstick and there was hardly any fall down from the product. I think a bit of sparkle brightens everyone’s day and these products will definitely be well loved.
